One of the great benefits to having a shorthair cut is how easy it can be to keep up and take care of. Your chances of keeping the hair in better style are much greater as shorter hairs look much younger and more vibrant than when you leave it to grow out. However, it is not only about an easier life – short hair cuts are always at the front of beauty trends and fashion, and what’s more, it can be seen in many celebrities who are shedding longer locks for a more confident and voguish look.

For those seeking style and individuality there are many hair cuts out there. It is important to know that some hair cuts look differently on different facial shapes. There are round faces, square faces, oval faces, long faces, and heart faces.

Last year we have witnessed stars hitting the red carpet with glorious short hair styles. It is important to add width or at least the illusion of width. Don’t have hair that is way too long it will make your face look even longer. Have some sort of v shaped style. For rounder faces it is important that you remember a few important things. Avoid short, curly hair. Hair cuts that are all one length typically emphasize on the roundness of your face. Larger women are not the only ones with round faces. The gorgeous Catherine Zeta-Jones has a round face as does Kate Bosworth. Also, if you have a round face you FINALLY have something in common with Oprah! A-lined hair styles that goes all the way to beneath your chin typically look fantastic. Soft layers are amazing and make you look less round. Tapered ends are fantastic for this type of face shape too.

There are styles to avoid such as anything that adds height to your head. Short layers cause the face to look longer than it really is. Also avoid having curly hair if you have a short hair cut. The beautiful Kate Hudson has this facial shape as does Jada Pinkett Smith.

For those that have oval face shapes hair cuts should not be at all a problem. With this shape you can have almost any hair cut! Angular bobs will be great to promote bone structure while blunt bangs will show off gorgeous eyes. For those who like longer hair styles think of the surfer girl hair style. They are typically long and wavy.

Don’t forget that you can add bangs to most of the styles for an even more unique look. Bangs can be short, swept to the side, wispy, choppy or even asymmetrical. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
